One frame, two cushion options
The F&P Solo™ frame is compatible with two interchangeable cushion types:

AutoFit is a stretch headgear that goes over the head like a band, with no side straps to adjust. You stretch it, place the cushion under the nose, and the headgear auto-adjusts to morphology. It is the world's first CPAP mask with this approach. AutoLock then keeps the mask in place without over-tightening.
Both. The Solo frame is compatible with two interchangeable cushions: Solo Nasal (sub-nasal cushion under the nose, minimal contact) and Solo Nasal Pillows (soft AirPillow cushion sitting in and around the nostrils). You can test both styles with the same headgear. Handy for those hesitating between nasal and pillow.
The Solo Nasal comes in Small, Medium and Large. The Solo Pillows in Small, Medium and Large as well. Fisher & Paykel provides a printable sizing template. The cushion sits under the nose (nasal version) or in the nostrils (pillow version). When in doubt, Medium fits most adult morphologies.
The F&P Solo is a nasal or pillow mask depending on the cushion. In both cases, mouth breathing leaks therapy air. A CPAP chin strap can solve moderate cases. For marked mouth breathing, choose a full face mask like the Fisher & Paykel Vitera or AirFit F20 instead.
The Solo uses a standard 22 mm connector, compatible with almost all CPAPs: AirSense 10, AirSense 11, DreamStation 2, Loewenstein Prisma, Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle and more. It is not compatible with the ResMed AirMini which requires a proprietary connector and specific masks.
The Solo suits users who want a mask easy to put on, without complicated straps to adjust. It is also relevant for claustrophobic users, patients sensitive to classic headgear and those hesitating between nasal and pillow. Whether starting CPAP or switching models, AutoFit shortens the learning curve.
Rinse the cushion every morning in warm soapy water (neutral soap). Hand wash the AutoFit headgear once a week, dry flat in open air. Do not use alcohol, bleach or a dishwasher. Replace the cushion every 3 to 6 months and the headgear every 6 to 12 months based on wear and care.
