ResMed AirFit F20 Replacement Cushion

The cushion is the part that touches the skin, so it wears out first. Silicone deforms, loses its elasticity and starts letting air through. When leaks come back despite well adjusted headgear, the cushion is almost always the culprit, not the mask.

Silicone or foam: you can change your mind

The frame, elbow and headgear are identical between the AirFit F20 and the AirTouch F20. You can therefore move from silicone to foam, or the other way round, by buying the cushion alone, with no need to buy the mask again. The AirTouch F20 foam cushion is gentler on sensitive skin, but it must never be rinsed and is replaced monthly.

When to replace it

As soon as leaks persist, the surface feels tacky, or the cushion has lost its shape. With daily use, plan a replacement every 1 to 3 months.
