Fit Packs
The mask with every cushion size, to try at home instead of guessing.
Our catalog Fit Packs
The first obstacle in CPAP therapy is not the pressure, it is the mask size. A cushion that is too large leaks, one that is too small marks the face, and a leaking mask is the reason most often given by people who give up. Yet nobody can guess their size from a photo, and a printed sizing template will not tell you how the silicone behaves after four hours of sleep.
A Fit Pack removes the question: the mask arrives fitted in the most common size, with the other cushion sizes in the box. You try them during your real nights, and you keep the one that does not leak.
Why we assemble them ourselves
Because ResMed sells no Fit Pack at all. The manufacturer's "all sizes" variant does exist, but only at Philips and Fisher & Paykel: Evora, Solo, DreamWisp, DreamWear. No ResMed mask has one, not the AirFit F20, not the AirTouch F20, not the N20, not the N30i. Which is precisely the most asked-for brand.
What makes the assembly possible is a particularity of the F20: the frame, the elbow and the headgear are identical whatever the size. Only the cushion changes, and it unclips by hand in seconds. One mask plus two cushions therefore genuinely gives you all three sizes, with nothing wasted.
The six Fit Packs
- AirFit F20 Fit Pack, QuietAir elbow: the AirFit F20 in size M, with the S and L cushions. The QuietAir elbow diffuses the exhaled air through a membrane, making it the quietest.
- AirFit F20 Fit Pack, standard elbow: the same, with the quick-release elbow that detaches in one movement without undoing the headgear. The one preferred by patients who get up during the night.
- AirFit F20 For Her Fit Pack, QuietAir and standard elbow: the F20 For Her, with smaller headgear. It exists in only two cushion sizes, S and M, and the pack contains both.
- AirTouch F20 Fit Pack: the version with a memory foam cushion, in size M with the S and L cushions. For sensitive skin, stubble, and faces marked by silicone.
- AirFit N30i Fit Pack: the only nasal mask in the range. It rests under the nose, with nothing on the nose bridge, and its tube runs over the top of the head. Its cushion exists in four sizes, and the pack gives you all of them.
What S, SW, M and Wide actually mean
The letters do not all describe the same dimension, and that is the most widespread source of error. S and M relate to the height of the nose, SW and Wide to its width. A short, wide nose needs an SW, not an S: going down a size solves nothing if the problem is the width.
That is exactly why trying beats measuring. ResMed codes these sizes by colour on the cushion itself: red for S, purple for SW, blue for M. Useful once three cushions end up in the same drawer.
The cushions you do not adopt are not wasted
This is the point people forget when comparing prices. The two cushions you do not keep do not go in the bin: they become your spares. A cushion is replaced every one to three months in daily use, a little more often for foam. A Fit Pack therefore covers both the trial and your first months of consumables.
If you already know your size
Then a Fit Pack is not for you: order the mask on its own in your size, and the replacement cushion when it wears out. A Fit Pack is for someone starting out, or someone changing model and starting again from scratch on size.
And if you are starting from nothing at all, look at the Starter Kits instead: they carry the same principle, device included.
Frequently asked questions about Fit Packs
The mask arrives fitted in the most common size, M. You sleep with it for several nights. If it leaks or marks you, you unclip the cushion by hand and fit the next one: three seconds, no tools, and the headgear stays adjusted. You keep the one that does not leak, and the others become spares. No returns, no procedure: it all happens at home.
Because a pack has a fixed composition and cannot offer an option. The F20 comes with two elbows, QuietAir and standard, at the same price. Rather than imposing one, we offer both packs. That is the only difference between them: mask, cushions and sizes are identical.
The QuietAir diffuses the exhaled air through a membrane: it is the quieter one, and it is the argument that sells this mask when you share a bed. The standard detaches in one movement without undoing the headgear, which matters if you get up at night. Both are also sold separately, so this choice is not final.
They do not measure the same thing. S and M concern the height of the nose, SW and Wide its width. A short, wide nose therefore needs an SW, and going from M down to S will solve nothing. On the N30i all four sizes exist and the pack contains every one. ResMed marks them by colour on the cushion: red S, purple SW, blue M.
You keep them: they are your spares. A silicone cushion is replaced every one to three months in daily use, a foam one roughly monthly. So the sizes you do not adopt cover your first replacements, even if they are not your ideal size, while you order the right one. Nothing expires in a sealed pack.
Silicone (AirFit F20) is washable, durable, and the default choice. Foam (AirTouch F20) moulds to the face without tightening and suits sensitive skin better, but it must never be rinsed: you wipe it dry, and it is replaced more often. The good news: both cushions fit the same frame. So you can change your mind without buying another mask.
No, and that is why we assemble them. The "all sizes" variant does exist from manufacturers, but only from Philips and Fisher & Paykel: Evora, Solo, DreamWisp, DreamWear. No ResMed mask has one. Our Fit Packs are therefore VivaRespire assemblies, built exclusively from genuine ResMed parts: the mask and its cushions are the manufacturer's own references, nothing is adapted or generic.
It happens, and in that case it is not the size that needs changing but the type of mask. A leak at the top of the nose bridge and a mask that marks the cheeks do not have the same answer: the first calls for an under-nose design like the N30i, the second for a full face mask of a different architecture. Write to us describing where it leaks, that is the detail that decides.
