ResMed AirTouch N30i – Nasal CPAP Mask

Both masks share the N30i architecture (top-of-head connection, cushion under the nose). The difference: the AirFit N30i uses a classic silicone cushion, the AirTouch N30i uses a ComfiSoft fabric-over-silicone cushion. The ComfiSoft fabric reduces red marks, wicks moisture and feels warmer to the touch. Components are interchangeable on the same frame.

The ComfiSoft fabric cushion is relevant for sensitive skin, users prone to marks and redness, and those finding silicone too cold to the touch. It is also appreciated by people who sweat easily at night, the fabric wicking moisture. If you stopped CPAP due to skin irritation, the AirTouch N30i is worth a try.

Four configurations are offered: SW/STD (Small Wide cushion + Standard frame), M/STD (Medium + Standard), L/STD (Large + Standard) and M/SML (Medium + Small frame). The Small frame fits shorter faces, Standard fits longer faces. The cushion matches the nose width at its base. ResMed provides a printable template for accurate measurement.

The AirTouch N30i is a sub-nasal mask: the cushion sits under the nose without covering the mouth. If you breathe through the mouth during sleep, therapeutic pressure escapes. A CPAP chin strap sometimes works. For marked mouth breathing, choose a full face mask like the AirFit F30i or F20. Ask your sleep physician.

The ComfiSoft cushion is not cleaned like a silicone cushion. Wipe it every morning with a slightly damp cloth, without harsh rubbing. Avoid full immersion, alcohol, bleach and dishwashers. The Standard or Small frame is hand washed normally with mild soap. Plan around 1 month of use per ComfiSoft cushion.

The AirTouch N30i uses a standard 22 mm connector, compatible with almost every CPAP: AirSense 10, AirSense 11, DreamStation 2, Loewenstein Prisma. Important: it is not compatible with the ResMed AirMini, which uses a proprietary connector and requires specific masks. Sound level around 20 dB thanks to QuietAir.
