Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, respiratory innovation since 1971

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare (F&P) is a New Zealand medical device manufacturer founded in 1934, whose healthcare division entered the respiratory market in 1971 with the development of a proprietary humidifier system for intensive care.

Today, F&P serves hospitals and patients in more than 120 countries, with manufacturing based in New Zealand and Mexico, certified ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.

The innovation that changed CPAP: heated humidification

Heated humidification is now a standard on modern CPAPs. F&P pioneered it: the brand transposed its ICU humidifier expertise to CPAP therapy to improve patient comfort and adherence, at a time when treatment was difficult to tolerate.

This hospital lineage remains F&P's DNA: quality materials, medical-grade ergonomics, a focus on long-term comfort rather than flashy marketing.

The F&P range at VivaRespire

F&P signature technologies

  • RollFit™ (Solo): the nasal cushion rolls on the bridge of the nose to adapt to any morphology without manual adjustment
  • VentiCool™: a woven headgear that wicks heat and sweat away on Vitera and Evora masks
  • Easy Frame: flexible frame and soft silicone that reduces marks on the face
  • Quiet exhalation diffuser: F&P masks are designed not to wake the partner

Why choose Fisher & Paykel

  • Hospital heritage: ICU-grade materials and ergonomics
  • Strong in-house R&D: F&P invests heavily in development, it is their declared core focus
  • Long-term comfort: F&P masks are recognized for staying comfortable night after night
  • Coherent range: three families (Evora, Vitera/Simplus, Solo/Eson) to cover every need

Your questions about Fisher & Paykel

The Solo uses RollFit technology, the nasal cushion fits automatically with no adjustment. The Eson 2 is F&P's classic reference, reliable and easy to fine-tune. The Evora nasal is more compact and discreet, with a cushion under the nose. If you are starting out, the Solo is the simplest; if you want compact, go for the Evora.

The Vitera is more recent and more premium: VentiCool sweat-wicking headgear and auto-adjusting frame. The Simplus is the proven reference, simpler, fitting most morphologies. Vitera = long-term comfort, Simplus = safe choice.

Yes. All Fisher & Paykel masks use a standard 22 mm connector. You can pair them with a ResMed AirSense, Philips DreamStation, Löwenstein Prisma or Sefam EcoStar without any special adapter.

The cushion is replaced every 6 to 12 months depending on use and silicone wear. The headgear (VentiCool or standard) usually lasts 12 to 18 months. If you notice increased leaks or loss of elasticity, it is time to replace it.

F&P started in respiratory humidifiers for intensive care in 1971. The brand then adapted that technology to CPAP to improve comfort. Today, heated humidification is a standard on most CPAPs, and F&P remains a reference player.

Yes. F&P also makes CPAPs (SleepStyle range) and standalone humidifiers. For now, VivaRespire offers the F&P mask selection, which is compatible with any CPAP on the market.

Manufacturer warranty is 90 days on cushions and 6 months on headgear. This is the market average for CPAP consumables. Keep your VivaRespire invoice to claim warranty in case of an early defect.
