The Mirage FX for Her shares the same architecture as the regular Mirage FX, with a few key differences. The cushion is sized for finer faces, the headgear uses grey and pink colours, and the pack only ships with the Small size. If you have a medium or larger face, the regular Mirage FX in Standard or Wide remains the right choice.
Yes, technically nothing prevents a man with a small face from using the Mirage FX for Her. The Small cushion will work very well on a delicate facial structure. The only truly feminine aspect is the headgear aesthetic (grey and pink). If the colour is not an issue, this is a valid way to get the Small size that is not sold in the regular Mirage FX pack.
This mask uses a standard 22 mm connector, compatible with almost every CPAP on the market: AirSense 10, AirSense 11, DreamStation, DreamStation 2, Loewenstein Prisma and more. It is not compatible with the ResMed AirMini which uses a proprietary connector. The quick-release elbow lets you disconnect without removing the mask if you wake up at night.
The Mirage FX for Her is purely a nasal mask. Mouth breathing leaks therapy air and reduces treatment efficacy. A CPAP chin strap may be enough in mild to moderate cases. If the mouth clearly opens every night, a full face mask is a better fit. Talk to your sleep physician or sleep centre for advice.
Plan for 3 to 6 months for the silicone Spring Air cushion and 6 to 12 months for the SoftEdge headgear, depending on use and care. Replacement signs: persistent leaks, silicone losing softness or turning yellow, reduced headgear elasticity, new red marks.
