ResMed AirFit N30 – Nasal CPAP Mask

Both masks use an under-the-nose cushion (no pressure on the nasal bridge). The difference: the N30 has a classic front connection with a short tube, the N30i has a top-of-head connection. The N30 is more minimalist (45 g, three components), the N30i offers more movement freedom. Choose N30 for simplicity, N30i to move freely.

The AirFit N30 pack includes two under-the-nose cushion sizes: Small (S) and Medium (M). A third size, Small Wide (SW), is available separately. This two-size shipment helps initial fitting: try both and keep the one that best matches the base of your nose. ResMed also offers a template to refine the choice.

With just 45 grams and three components, the N30 appeals to users wanting an ultra-minimalist, discreet and quiet mask. It suits sleepers sensitive to claustrophobia, position-changers and those wanting to avoid any nasal bridge pressure. It is also a good second mask choice for travel.

The N30 is a nasal mask placing a cushion under the nose. If the mouth opens during sleep, therapy air escapes and pressure becomes ineffective. A CPAP chin strap may solve mild cases. If the mouth clearly opens, a full face mask like the AirFit F20, F30 or F30i is better. Ask your sleep physician.

The AirFit N30 uses a standard 22 mm connector and works with all CPAPs: AirSense 10, AirSense 11, DreamStation 2, Loewenstein Prisma. It is not compatible with the ResMed AirMini in its standard version. For AirMini, a specific N30 for AirMini setup pack with proprietary adapters exists. The N30 is quiet thanks to QuietAir technology.

Rinse the cushion every morning in warm soapy water (neutral soap). Once a week, hand wash the headgear with mild soap, rinse and air dry. Do not use alcohol, bleach or a dishwasher. Plan 3 to 6 months for the silicone cushion and 6 to 12 months for the headgear based on wear. The N30 headgear is interchangeable with the AirFit P10.
