ResMed AirFit N20 – Nasal CPAP Mask

The AirFit N20 comes in Small, Medium and Large sizes. ResMed provides a printable fitting template to place on the face and measure nose width and height. As a rule, Medium suits most adult men, Small fits women and finer faces, Large wider faces. Choosing right avoids leaks and red marks.

The AirFit N20 uses an InfinitySeal silicone cushion, durable and reliable. The AirTouch N20 uses an UltraSoft memory foam cushion, softer on the skin and less marking. Good news: both cushions are interchangeable on the same frame. You can start with the AirFit and add an AirTouch cushion for more sensitive nights.

It works with all standard 22 mm CPAPs: AirSense 10, AirSense 11, DreamStation 2, Loewenstein Prisma and many others. For the ResMed AirMini, the dedicated AirFit N20 for AirMini kit is required with specific adapters. Magnetic clips ease fitting but can be contraindicated if you wear certain medical implants.

The AirFit N20 is a nasal mask, so ineffective if you breathe with mouth open. A CPAP chin strap may be enough for moderate opening. For marked mouth breathing, a full face mask like the AirFit F20 or AirTouch F20 is better, covering nose and mouth. Talk to your sleep physician before switching.

The InfinitySeal silicone cushion typically lasts 3 to 6 months depending on use and care. The headgear lasts 6 to 12 months. Replace the cushion as soon as you see stubborn leaks, loss of elasticity, cracks or marked yellowing. Clean the cushion every morning in warm soapy water, with a full weekly wash.

Yes, its under-the-eye frame and InfinitySeal cushion adapt well to side sleeping. The short flexible tube limits mask tension when you change position. For very active or stomach sleepers, a top-of-head connection mask like the AirFit N30i or DreamWear nasal offers even more freedom.
