Can you fit a P30i cushion on an N30i frame?
Yes. The AirFit P30i nasal pillow cushion and the AirFit N30i nasal cradle cushion both fit the same frame. You can switch from one to the other without buying a complete mask.
Three masks, one frame
ResMed built these three masks on a shared platform. The only difference is the cushion that clips on at the front. The frame, the headgear and the elbow with its top-of-head connection are identical.

If you already own one of the three masks, you only buy the cushion to try a different feel. The rest of the mask stays as it is.
How to swap the cushion, step by step
- Pull the current cushion gently forward to remove it, without forcing the frame.
- Line the new cushion up with the connection points on the frame.
- Press firmly until it clicks into place.
- Run the device and check for leaks before you use it overnight.
The whole thing takes under a minute. No tools are needed, and your headgear stays adjusted if you keep the same frame.
The setting you should not forget
On the AirSense 10, the setting sits in the My Options menu, under Mask. On the AirSense 11 the mask type is not patient-accessible: ask your provider to update it. If you track your nightly data, an incorrect mask type distorts your leak readings.
When is it worth switching cushions?
Your nostrils are irritated or red
The P30i pillows sit at the entrance of the nostrils. Over time they can irritate, especially on sensitive skin or in dry air. The N30i cradle simply rests under the nose, with nothing inserted into the nostrils. The contact area changes completely.
If redness persists, the AirTouch N30i adds a layer of soft fabric between skin and silicone. It is the gentlest of the three.
You get leaks or feel short of air
The reverse switch works just as well. Several signs point towards trying the P30i: a cradle that slips at night, air escaping above the upper lip, a sense of not getting enough flow. Its pillows tighten the seal point and send air straight into the nostrils.

You want to alternate between nights
Nothing stops you from keeping both cushions and alternating. It varies the pressure points on your face, lets the skin recover, and spreads the wear across two cushions instead of one.
The one limit to know
Try a different fit without buying a whole mask
That is the real value of this compatibility. A complete mask includes the frame, the headgear, the elbow and the cushion. A cushion on its own costs a fraction of that.

Yes, it works both ways. ResMed Benelux confirmed it to us in April 2026: the frame is strictly identical on both masks. Remove the nasal pillows, clip on the nasal cradle, and the mask is ready.
Yes. Frame, headgear and elbow are shared across all three masks in the platform. Only the cushion changes. That is exactly what lets you test a different type of contact without buying the whole set again.
Yes. ResMed Benelux confirms that the fabric cradle of the AirTouch N30i can be used on its own with an AirFit frame. It is the recommended route if you want a softer layer against the skin while keeping your current frame.
Yes, one only: the mask type. Select Pillows for the P30i and Nasal for the N30i or AirTouch N30i. The device uses this parameter to interpret leaks. Your prescribed pressure does not change.
Yes, the sensation is nothing alike. The P30i pillows press inside the nostrils, with very little contact on the face. The N30i cradle rests under the nose without inserting anything. Plan on a replacement every one to three months depending on cushion type and care. The thin silicone of nasal pillows wears faster than a nasal cradle. A cushion that is deformed, sticky or dulled no longer holds a seal, and that is often the real cause behind leaks blamed on the mask.
