Your data leaves by two routes
Your device records your usage hours, leaks and respiratory events every night. That data reaches your provider by two distinct routes, and it helps to know which applies to you.
| Route | How it works |
|---|---|
| Cellular network | The device transmits on its own, after therapy stops. Nothing to do |
| SD card | You remove the card and take or post it to your provider |
Both devices include cellular communication. The SD card acts as a fallback, or as the main method where network coverage is poor.
Why your data is not getting through
This is the most common support call, and the cause is nearly always on this list.
- The device is unplugged during the day. Transmission happens after therapy stops, so during the day. Leave it plugged in permanently
- Airplane mode was left on after a trip. The classic oversight
- Network coverage is poor. A device in a drawer, a cellar or on the floor receives badly. Put it on the bedside table
- You are outside the country of purchase. The cellular function may not work outside the region where the device was bought
The signal icon at the top of the screen tells you: all bars showing means good coverage, few bars means weak coverage.

Inserting the card
- Push the SD card cover.
- Remove the cover and keep it somewhere safe.
- Insert the SD card.
- Push the card in until it clicks into place.
Removing the card
- Push the SD card in to release it.
- Put it in its protective folder and follow your provider's instructions.
SD card on a ResMed AirSense 10
- Open the SD card cover.
- Push the card in to release it, then remove it.
- Put it in its protective folder and send it back to your provider.
The "Read only card" message
If your device asks you to remove, unlock and reinsert the card, nothing is broken. The small switch on the side of the SD card is in the locked position. Slide it to the unlocked position, then reinsert the card.
Pairing an AirSense 11 with myAir
myAir is ResMed's patient app. It shows you your own data, offers setup and mask fitting videos, and tracks your progress. It is not required for the device to work.
- Make sure the device is correctly set up and plugged into mains power.
- Install the latest version of the app on your phone, launch it and tap Continue.
- Follow the on screen prompts to complete the Bluetooth connection.
- Tap Done. The Bluetooth symbol then appears in the device status bar.
Our dedicated guide explains how to read and understand your myAir results.
Going further than myAir
myAir gives a simplified, deliberately reassuring reading. To analyse your leaks in detail, how your events are spread through the night and your real pressure, you need the SD card and analysis software. That is the subject of our guide to the OSCAR software.

Frequently asked questions about therapy data
No, transmission happens after therapy stops, so usually during the following day. For it to go out, the device must stay plugged into mains power and must not be in airplane mode.
Airplane mode cuts the cellular link. Be aware though that your provider then loses sight of your compliance, and can no longer apply new settings remotely. Discuss it with them rather than cutting it unilaterally.
Not for your provider, who already receives the data over the network. The card stays useful if coverage is poor where you live, and above all if you want to analyse your nights in detail with software such as OSCAR.
Put it back in and check that the device reports no error. That night's data may be corrupted or lost. Subsequent nights will record normally. Get into the habit of waiting until the light is off.
Yes, myAir exists for both generations. The pairing procedure described here applies to the AirSense 11, which connects over Bluetooth through the device menu. On the AirSense 10 the link goes through the cellular network and your serial number.
ResMed treats this as health data and applies GDPR for European patients. You have rights of access, rectification and objection. The detail is set out in the manufacturer's privacy policy.
